We have a vacancy for a Technical Operator working a continuous 4 on/4 off shift pattern. Each working shift is 12 hours and this pattern works only on days, but it does include weekends and most bank holidays with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. There is 1 hour of paid break during each shift. The salary for this position is £24,756 (which includes a shift premium). Holiday entitlement is 236 hours per annum.
The position will require undertaking distillations, separations, transfers, filtrations, hydrogenations, phosgenations, BF3 reactions and powder handling. The use of vacuum systems, Nitrogen and control panels will be required as will flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing processes. The plant has designated areas which work to GMP and understanding and following these principles is a job requirement.
You will be an experienced process operative ideally coming from a chemical manufacturing environment. You should have an excellent attitude towards health and safety and be familiar with COSHH and risk assessments. You should ideally have completed an IOSH Working Safely qualification. It would be beneficial for you to hold a current counter balance fork lift truck licence.
You should possess at least GCSEs at grade ‘C’ or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English. A relevant vocational qualification at Level 2 or above would be advantageous.
