Job Description Summary

Responsible for the release of incremental value contributing towards a holistic product, project or service with the main goal of realising value for customers and stakeholders by ensuring that the team are working on the right priorities. This is achieved by fostering collaborative, empowered teams, nurturing them to take ownership of the relevant outcomes. As well as stimulating innovation and mitigating risk by conducting data driven test and learn activities.

Chapter Lead – Some roles also include Chapter Lead accountabilities. A Chapter Lead is a role that blends both deep domain expertise with a passion for coaching and developing people. The main role of the Chapter Lead is to grow and develop the capabilities of their chapter members within their specific discipline, job family or role type.

About the role:

In this role you’ll have accountability for elements of our digital proposition for our Pension Customers within the Scottish Widows Life & Pensions business. You’ll inspire teams to deliver on outcomes, do the right thing for our customers and shape how the proposition moves forward.

You’ll work with teams, to ensure safe delivery of changes to our users as we modernise our platforms and deliver our strategic priorities, owning the needs of customers, against business drivers and risk.

  • Creating an environment in which people bring out the best in themselves by providing autonomy and ensuring they feel safe to challenge and deliver in the best way.

What we need from you

  • An experienced Product owner with a strong understanding of product lifecycle management and experience in software delivery.
  • Experience with Agile/ Scrum methodologies
  • The ability to collaborate and build strong links across the business to understand business/ customer needs and translate into products and features.
  • Experience of the Life & Pensions industry and driving customer adoption of digital services, would be beneficial but is not essential
