About the role
We’ve been a busy bunch, growing our network to include more homes and commercial premises than ever before. We are delivering the biggest investment in the UK’s digital infrastructure for over a decade, with a £3bn programme to extend our ultrafast broadband network and brilliant Virgin TV to millions of homes and businesses.
As we enter one of the most exciting times in our history we are looking for a Senior Technical Analyst – Physical Inventory that oozes our Virgin values and embraces the on-going ways of working within Liberty Global.
Who we are
At Virgin Media O2 we’re going All In, to remove bias and barriers for our people and our candidates. We’re working hard to achieve bold ambitions, to help us better represent the diverse communities we serve across the UK. As an equal opportunities employer, we support and encourage you, to be your authentic self throughout your application journey.
What will you be doing?
As the Senior Technical Analyst – Physical Inventory, you will be providing Geospatial data, visualisation and modelling expertise to the business promoting quality and efficient utilisation of Virgin Media asset data.
The particular focus of this role majors on the Physical Inventory (GI) systems, data, processes and visualisation techniques. This includes developing expertise in spatial analysis techniques, the data model and the functionality of corporate GIS and web-mapping applications. The role requires strong solution orientated problem-solving skills and will be expected to work alone and in teams to answer complex geospatial business requests and represent the team on network inventory and geospatial related projects/initiatives.
While the role will be expected to support the wider business, working within a team of inventory domain subject matter experts, the significant priority is to leverage that expertise to support the major Virgin Media network expansion activity.
Are you right for the role?
So it’s the moment of truth, right? What are we looking for in the successful candidate?
- Experience of physical asset management in geospatial systems, from migrations, version upgrades, to developing new tools and researching the area for new opportunities
- Expertise in geospatial analysis, visualisation and complex problem solving
- Knowledge of Hexagon GIS and FME preferable but experience of alternative but equivalent providers would be otherwise required
- Strong grounding in networking principles would be advantageous
- Ability to communicate at all levels to articulate and negotiate on key inventory issues.
What’s in it for you?
We know that benefits mean so much more than the ‘stuff’ we can give you, so we offer a wide range of support, rewards and tools – all focused on helping you to prioritise what really matters.
All work and no play just isn’t our style! We’re already planning our future ways of working, for when life becomes a little more normal again. We’re constantly evolving our approach to enable you to find a great work life balance.
If we feel like a place where you can belong, we’d love to learn more about you.
When you apply, you’ll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we’ll be sure to discuss it with you. Thanks for your patience in the meantime and for showing an interest in joining the Virgin Media O2 family.
