|A leading UK law firm with a network of offices from the South Coast to Scotland, working together as one national team. An innovative practice and the first top 100 law firm to achieve “Gold Standard” Investors in People, our values and culture are not just words on our website but are the heartbeat of the firm. The lack of barriers between departments, a real lack of hierarchy, zero tolerance for arrogance and pomposity makes Shoosmiths a fantastic place to work.|
|Our award winning national Corporate team, which has been ranked in the top five firms for deal volume for the past four years by Experian MarketIQ’s M&A Review, is led by a team of partners widely regarded as leaders in their field who are regularly recommended by clients for their reputation, personalities and outstanding expertise.
We advise companies, management teams, investors and debt providers through the business life cycle, from start-up and first round finance through M&A, management transactions, venture and development funding, restructuring, capital reductions, private equity funding and exits.
Our Corporate team in Scotland is led by Alison Gilson and is going from strength to strength, now with an established practice operating across Edinburgh and Glasgow. Our Scottish team has extensive experience advising on a full range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, MBOs, MBIs, private equity and venture capital fundraises, shareholder arrangements, disposals and joint ventures.
We act for local, national and international clients across a wide range of sectors and have developed particular expertise working with businesses in the healthcare, technology, manufacturing, financial services and media sectors.
|Our national team has grown significantly over the last 12 months and continues to do so. Therefore we are looking for a driven and ambitious Senior Associate or Principal Associate to join the Scottish team in either Edinburgh or Glasgow and assist in driving our success. Our team has a clear growth strategy, which means that for the right candidate there is the opportunity for real career progression.
The successful candidate will have excellent prior experience working in a dedicated corporate team, and be confident supporting and leading on a wide range of corporate work from M&A deals, joint ventures and shareholder arrangements through to capital fundraising, compliance and corporate governance.
In this role you will be able to take ownership of transactions, as well as have the opportunity to assist on larger, more complex matters. You will also be able to supervise and mentor more junior members of the team. We work very closely as a national team, so there will be the opportunity to work closely with our Scottish team, but also assist our wider national team on the full range of corporate transactions.
We pride ourselves in providing the best client experience and you will therefore be encouraged to take part in a variety of client and business development activities from the outset.
We would be keen to hear from you directly, so if you would like to have an initial confidential conversation please get in touch with Dawn Gillard at email@example.com.
