As the Project Manager you will play a key role supporting the Project Director in managing the project programme and resources to deliver the planned works within budget, safely and within set timescales.
As a Project Manager we need someone who can:
• Manage and deliver the contract of works in line with both client and internal requirements.
• Provide clear and precise reports on the status of project deliverables in line with the Project Management Plan.
• Effectively manage resources and project programmes including people, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Manage and control costs, risks and opportunities to ensure contract is delivered in line with business expectations.
• Represent Alstom at regular client and supplier meetings.
• Produce accurate and concise written reports internally and to the client.
• Develop & maintain a strong delivery culture with all project staff.
• Ensure the Project Risk Management process is regularly and accurately maintained.
• Understand standard industry contract conditions, contractual requirements and be able to identify key variations.
• Accurately track all deliverables through to a successful project close out
The successful candidate must have the following skills, qualifications & experience:
• Experience working for a main contractor in a railway signalling environment.
• Knowledge of quantified risk assessments.
• Understanding of the planning process and software.
• Awareness of client contracts, standards and procedures.
• Comprehension of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.
• Understanding of management systems.
• Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
It is also desirable for candidates to hold or be working towards a recognised professional qualification in Project Management (i.e. APM)
