We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician for our Workshops in Rotherham.
The Rotherham Workshops provide a Spares refurbishment service for high value spares and technical on-site maintenance to the Liberty Steel production facilities at Rotherham, Stocksbridge, and Brinsworth.

THE ROLE
The vacancy is for a Mechanical Fitter with specific knowledge to work within a small team of skilled craft persons in providing a Technical and complex mechanical spares refurbishment and rotating machinery maintenance service.
Equipment covered includes Mill and Crane gearbox assemblies, Pumps, roll assemblies, Roller refurbishment, bearing maintenance and other high quality fitting and assembly work.
REQUIREMENTS
- Be apprentice trained, with an NVQ level 3 in Engineering and a minimum 2 years’ experience in technical fitting.
- Experience of working to tight tolerances and to high quality standards.
- Be able to read engineering technical assemby and detail drawings
- They need to be able to understand safe working procedures and apply recognised safety practices to each task the team are undertaking.
- They must be self-motivated and highly flexible. They are required to work unsupervised and aim to deliver a first-class customer service in accordance with departmental goals and KPI’s.

A current driving license is essential.
Working hours are 7.30 am to 3.30pm with opportunity for some overtime working.
The role operates on a weekend rota basis for which a shift rota premium is paid.
