An opportunity has arisen in our Quality Department for a full time Instrument Support Analyst reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager. The major aspects of the role include:
- Management of analytical technical support activities, to meet requirements of Quality Control and R&D Departments
- Method development and transfer (HPLC, GC, UV, FTIR) for new and existing products
- Deputise for Quality Control Manager, in their absence
- In conjunction with the QC Manager, organise analytical priorities for new product and method development
- Analytical technical support for QC and R&D
- Preparation of standard methods, operating procedures and technical reports
- Training and support of QC staff in analytical matters
- Communication of analytical information, to management level
- Communication with customers on technical matters, to a senior analytical level including technical transfer of information
- Communication with equipment/instrumentation suppliers to include control of service and maintenance contracts and recommendations for equipment purchase
Requirements for the position are:
- Formal qualification to degree level or member of a professional body, of recognised graduate status (e.g. NVQ-5) in chemistry or applied chemistry and / or Minimum of 6 years’ experience in an analytical laboratory environment including at least 1 year in Quality Control, working to GMP/ISO9001 standards
- Practical and theoretical expertise in Chromatographic and Spectroscopic techniques, in particular GC and HPLC
Salary for the successful candidate will be in the region of £30K per annum for a 36.25 hour week (Monday-Friday 08.45-16.30). Other benefits include 25 days holiday plus all UK Bank Holidays, a paid sick pay scheme and a group stakeholder pension scheme to which we contribute.
