Individual Annuity Pricing Development Actuary

Salary between £80,000 and £90,000

 

Due to the continued success and investment in our Individual and Bulk Annuity businesses, an excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Annuity Pricing team to support delivery of our Individual Annuity trading plan.

 

Reporting to the Annuity Pricing Director, this role would suit a commercially minded and delivery focussed individual with strong actuarial, leadership and problem-solving skills. You will join a wider multi-disciplinary and talented team in the Retirement Solutions business, and work in a fast paced, technical and growing market with huge potential to help drive our new business trading results.

 

A bit about the job:

 

The Pricing Development Actuary will identify and lead activity to improve our capability and trading performance covering assumption reviews, pricing methodology, models and tools, trading strategy, reinsurance optimisation, pricing proposition developments, operation and strengthening of key pricing controls.

 

This will be a leadership role in the pricing team so will require a strategic approach to joining up work across teams and individuals, the ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently and the desire to mentor and develop more junior members of the team, drive collaboration and a great team culture.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with colleagues and key stakeholders across the Annuity Pricing team, wider Retirement business, Finance and Risk, so will need to build effective relationships.

 

We are also investing in a new strategic platform for our Individual Annuity business to support improved customer experience, new proposition development and enhanced pricing capability going forward. This will help us deliver more value in a growing market and is a great time to join our business.

 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Actuary (or similar experience)
  • Track record of applying technical skills and experience to solve business problems
  • Strong communication and influencing (verbal, written)
  • Strong track record of successfully leading and developing teams / individuals
  • Commercial / pricing experience would be beneficial
