Head of Supply Chain Management – Healthcare

Demand for Private Medical Insurance has been rapidly growing which is why we are looking for a Head of Supply Chain Management to join our team! This is a great job for someone with extensive healthcare procurement to have end-to-end accountability for our London-based Hospital providers to optimise delivery, quality and value for the benefit of our customers and our business.
A bit about the job:
Within this role you will set the strategic agenda, own the operational performance of and negotiate hospital contracts, terms and rates for a portfolio of hospitals with spend up to £250m covering all areas of activity from out-patient procedures through to complex cancer care. You will have Delegated signatory authority for contracts of up to £10m p.a. and negotiate hospital tenders within defined parameters to deliver to Aviva’s strategic aims across commercial value, quality, customer experience and ESG. Additionally, you will:
- End to end accountability for strategy, plans, service development, contract compliance and provider performance for hospitals comprising of up to £250m p.a. of spend
- Lead individual for management of critical hospital relationships
- Responsible for leading and developing a strong team of Provider Management professionals
- Responsible for the smooth running of our flagship condition-based treatment networks such as Hip and Knee across hospitals nationally
- Lead on development initiatives to enhance the quality of and oversight of hospital services across all hospitals – for example drafting target contracts or leading on the development of oncology services
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- In depth knowledge of the private medical insurance market and a strong understanding of the UK Health system. Strong outcome-focus and ability to translate strategy, plan and deliver in a timely manner
- Strong analytical and commercial experience with application of sophisticated analytical inputs to inform a negotiating approach
- Experience of contract negotiation and management and running of structured tendering processes, including evolution of terms
- Track record of operational management, working with third parties to deliver key business and customer outcomes
- Demonstration of the highest level of integrity and the ability to deliver good customer and regulatory outcomes. Evidence of developing strong relationships with senior internal business partners and external providers

- Starting salary of £120,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
