Are you our next Head of Retail Operations?

This person/team will be the foundation of the Gymshark Retail team. This person supports in creating and executing the retail operations strategy in line with the overarching retail and business strategy and goals. The world of exceptional customer experience, omni channel, slick operations and effective communication excites you. You have a deep understanding of our business and retail. This person works incredibly cross functionally to enable the store teams to spend their time where it matters, with their team and their community. Your teams legacy is getting sh*t done. You are an innovative problem solver, logical thinker and cool under pressure. Our stores aren’t typical stores and you are more than excited to be part of the team that’s about to rip up the rule book and re write retail.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Responsible for effective retail operations in all locations, you work closely with multiple partners in GSHQ to execute this. You build relationships and bring your partners on the retail journey with us. Your team try, test and review all and any process required of a store to ensure in cohesion with the retail strategy and efficiencies are maximised. You design, create and monitor the effectiveness of the retail processes for our stores. You are constantly reviewing processes to ensure they are up to date and relevant.

Retail Processes include yet not limited to;

  • Inventory management
  • OmniChannel solutions
  • Store scheduling and wage cost management
  • Maintenance
  • Forecasting & Budgeting
  • EPOS
  • Health & Safety
  • Compensation & benefits packages
  • Monitors effectiveness and measures outcomes of our stores/processes, (impact, ROI and Return on Expectation) seeking to continuously improve
  • Create the Gymshark culture within your team, you lead by example and generate & facilitate monthly learning and development opportunities within your team. You strategically manage career development and pipeline within your team. You develop your successor
  • Able to take ideas/concepts in early stages of ideation through to conception and execution in stores
  • Own the 12 month retail calendar including trade, omni channel initiatives, product drops, community activations across multiple countries and timezones.
  • Accountable for the communications to the store teams, by doing so, you ensure workload for the stores is appropriate and timely. A “gate keeper” if you will. In return responsible for GSHQ receiving the feedback it needs from the retail team in a timely manner
  • Works with Omni Channel, Digital and App development teams to ensure new initiatives work for retail as well as ensuring retail is ready to receive new initiatives
  • Ensures the wider retail team and business are aware of the learnings our team experiences; we fail fast and when things don’t go to plan, we learn from it and move on quick
  • Creates budgets for Retail on store staff costings
  • Works with IT, Logistics and Property Maintenance to ensure timely deliverables to stores
  • Works closely with Risk and Health and Safety to ensure our teams, stores and product are safe and secure
  • Identifies opportunities for us to become more sustainable
  • Manage 3P supplier/vendor relationships, comfortable with negotiating contracts
  • Project management of multiple new stores opening where required
  • Proactively visits stores and spends time with the team to identify and assess needs and pivots to solve
  • Aware of legal trading requirements around retail and seek support where required
  • Accountable for Retail operations budget
  • Acts as a consultant to the business on all things retail
  • Fosters a diverse, inclusive, safe and green environment within our stores for our Gymshark family
  • Proactively network outside of Gymshark and continually seek to scan the landscape for best practise thinking and approaches in the retail & operations space so Gymshark are at the forefront of an extraordinary customer and community experience that meet the future needs of the business

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Retail experience in a fast paced, high volume, agile environment
  • You understand everything about our stores and pride yourself on doing so
  • Does everything to ensure community and customer satisfaction
  • You challenge the status quo
  • You think 3 years ahead
  • Highly effective communicator in both writing and speech
  • A creative, blue sky, logical thinker yet analytical all at the same time
  • Experienced at developing and implementing retail processes
  • Interacting and influencing all levels
  • Multi task with strong project management skills and highly organised. You are the epitome of efficiency. You can pivot and adapt to emerging business needs
  • The ability to travel and work across timezones where required
  • You can commit to working where & when the retail teams need you. This could be in store, on weekends or bank holidays
  • Must be able to take and give constructive feedback
