The role
As a Deputy Plant Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be a Duly Appointed Person and will be critical to the delivery of arrangements intended to ensure compliance with Site Licence and Authorisation Conditions and the terms of environment permits. You must be courageous and champion Nuclear, Conventional, Product and Environmental safety at all times. You must be prepared to challenge the status quo and stand up and be accountable for your actions.
Day-to-day, you’ll work as the head of a small team you will ensure there is a valid safety case in place that covers full scope of intended operations, authorisation and release of appropriate procedures for the conduct of facility maintenance and repair and a safe and secure working environment. This will also include the upkeep of appropriate Operation Records and suitable Functional Oversight of the work being undertaken.
This role is full time, based out of Devonport, consists of 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Experience of the Deputy Plant Manager:
• Experience high hazard environment
• Experience in working on/with safety cases
• Operational safety case experience
• An inclusive leader who can enable a diverse and high performing culture, someone who will delegate and hold people accountable appropriately, as well as to support, guide and coach
• A critical thinker who can understand complex issues (balancing the detail and the big picture), using insight/data (evidence) and their judgement to make good decisions and have a positive impact
Qualifications for the Deputy Plant Manager:
• Relevant engineering degree or significant experience of nuclear facilities management
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartered status
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and NNPPI clearance for this role.
