Aviva are looking for a Deputy Head of Construction & Latent Defects (LDI) to join their team in London!

 

A bit about the job:

 

Within this role you will be:

  • Grow a profitable portfolio of business or schemes, managing policies end-to–end with brokers/ customers and delivering the best possible underwriting journey for customers, underwrite high premium and complex risks, new business and renewals
  • Handle complex technical referrals and queries, providing high quality service to brokers/customers, agree (within designated authority) changes to policies or schemes, initiate and undertake performance and process reviews to improve services and strengthen compliance with regulations and controls
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive underwriting strategy and policy development, work with supplier relationship managers to secure optimal performance
  • Accountable for the delivery of the team, evaluate and monitor team performance and capacity, manage and monitor the team plans and budget, provide guidance, coaching and support, share expertise and knowledge to help team members develop their skills and abilities and to ensure their professional growth and development
  • Keep up to date with regulatory developments and standard processes, provide recommendations and thought leadership on emerging trends, lead and manage various projects and initiatives and deliver regular reporting on service performance to senior partners

 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Solid underwriting experience with in-depth knowledge of London market business
  • Portfolio and people – lower case management experience
  • Established broker networks
  • Confident and articulate – needs to be comfortable engaging with brokers/clients and undertaking negotiations, proactively representing Aviva to the market
  • Analytical/strategic, lower case – be able to review submissions and understand Aviva’s appetite whilst considering market conditions
