Base salary: £36,000pa to c.£42,350pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 15% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits – check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

About the role:
• Assist in the negotiation of claims for compensation including market value, disturbance, loss payments and professional fees
• Participate in consultation events to explain aspects of the compensation schemes to members of the public, stakeholders or interested groups
• Provide support to senior members of the team as required on acquisitions that are out with the scope of the statutory and discretionary compensation schemes
• Work with the in-house property management team and Department for Transport to ensure timely delivery of acquisitions
• Take ownership of all property and management related information that is developed or influenced by the scope of work undertaken and ensure complete and accurate data is recorded in the Land and Property systems in an efficient and effective manner
• Prepare responses to questions or requests for information from Claimants, Stakeholders, and MPs in a timely manner ensuring exemplary standards of communication are maintained
• Undertake research and obtain information from a variety of sources to assist in determining compensation claims and in responding to petitions or queries
• Draft approval papers for governance and approval panel review.
• Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

• Ability to manage communications and negotiations in a tactful way
• Stakeholder management
• Effective communication with a variety of stakeholders
• Project management
• Report writing skills and data compilation and analysis
• IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent
• Ability to access, analyse and maintain information from multiple IT databases and systems.
Knowledge:
• An understanding of the compulsory purchase process or other government compensation schemes (additional training will be provided).
Experience:
• Experience of project management
• Experience of working with suppliers to develop effective working relationships and manage performance to ensure delivery through the supply chain.
